Girls Who Save the World: [STEAM in Law Enforcement and First Responders] This session will address the opportunities for girls to have challenging careers as first responders and law enforcement. It will show how women work in the FBI forensic team as well as female firefighters and first responders.
Putting the STEAM in our Planet or Planet Earth - Explore Green STEAM: [STEAM in the Planet] This session will discuss how your passion for the Earth’s well-being can find its purpose through various environmental initiatives, simple daily actions, and ecologically smart decisions: #savetheplanet #conservationnation #oneearthforall
Finding the Beautiful in YOU: [STEAM in Fashion and Cosmetics] This session will explore the fashion industry, and how fashion and cosmetics align with STEAM education from math to science to engineering. It will explore how we are embracing wearable technology and the chemistry behind cosmetics.
Girl Power Cyber Ninja’s of the Future World: [STEAMin Cyber Innovation] This session will focus on the integration of Humans and Technology to highlight the possibilities of women in such career fields as Augmented Reality (AR), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Virtual Reality (AR). Participants will explore how these career fields play an important role in protecting society from cyber security attacks and leverage machine learning for cyber and information security through artificial intelligence and to automated detection of threats and intrusion while providing automated defense without the physical involvement of humans.
The Artistic Creativity of Girls: [STEAM in Arts & Entertainment] This session will explore the many artistic and creative STEAM careers from Ballet to Art. It will show students how all forms of artistic expression are a cornerstone of STEAM and future creative careers from game design to playing football.
Girls Gaming for the Future with STEAM:[STEAM in Gaming and Coding] This session will explore a view into the world of video gaming and how girls rock at coding video games and the creative design of video games for fun and professional use. The math and science behind the gaming industry and the education needed for these types of careers.
Girls Calculating for our Future: [Engineering: Be a Designer and Build Systems for our Future] This session will address the opportunities for girls to have a challenging career in engineering. It will address the many ways engineering plays a role in society from designing buildings to highways to planes and ships and outer space.
Grey’s Anatomy of STEAM: [The Art of Medicine] This session will include a panel of distinguished medical females to engage in the exploration of careers in the medical field. Building a healthy you and society through innovation of medicine.
Girl Power Moving with STEAM - Be Strong and Bring it on: [STEAMin athletics] This interactive session is designed to bring the STEAM in Sports. You will discover the STEAM in Sports.
The Power of Your Digital Tattoo: [STEAMin Technology] This session will discuss the multi-faceted ways that girls use technology to define their personal persona for communicating, educating, and growing their world in a social and digital environment. This session will explore the many ways technology is used for communication, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and citizenship.
Empowering Girls: Olenka Cullinan, Director of STEM Global Initiatives for Discovery Education is a former Founder of Rising Tycoons, speaker, author, and a National Program Director for STEM Entrepreneur Accelerator Program. She brings 10+ years of experience in business and STEM education. She has worked with top education organizations in the nation, consulted companies, and partaken in development of a wave of young STEM entrepreneurs globally. Having been mentored by top leadership speakers in the country, such as John Maxwell and Darren Hardy, Olenka has become one of the nation's premiere speakers and STEM entrepreneurs’ experts, as recently demonstrated by her speaking appearances at TEDx.

This event is designed for middle school girls in PWCS and is open to all interested PWCS middle school students and their parents/guardians.
